About Dance It

Amy Reinke

Amy Reinke is a dance instructor and choreographer from Rexburg Idaho. She has trained in many different styles of dance including ballroom, ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, and modern. Amy’s dance career began at a dance depot where she performed and competed for nine years. Throughout those nine years, she was awarded a year-long scholarship to train with the LA Underground convention. 

She later joined the Madison High School Drill team and was their Captain in her Junior and Senior year. During her junior year, Amy participated in the Rexburg Junior Miss pageant (now known as the Distinguished Young Women) and was honored with the Physical Fitness award.

Amy continued to pursue her dance at Idaho State University on the nationally-ranked Bengal Dance Team. While being on the Bengal Dance Team, Amy was a four-year All-American through the National Dance Alliance and awarded the Top-gun turner in 2004. She also received the Newcomer of the year award in 2004 and the Bengal Dancer of the year award in 2006 and 2007. 

While serving as Captain her fourth year on the team, the Bengal Dancers placed 1st in their hip hop routine at USA Nationals in Las Vegas, being the first dance team at Idaho State University to win a National Championship, and later competed at Daytona Beach Florida finishing 2nd in their dance division.

Amy was later employed with the National Dance Alliance in the fall of 2005 and the summer of 2006. Amy was first hired to model for the Cheerleader and Danzteam catalog and shortly after traveled around the country teaching dance camps to high schools and college dance teams. She was awarded the Best Technical Dancer through National Dance Alliance that summer. Amy was also employed at Cope’s Dance and Fitness in American Falls from 2003-2008 as the assistant coach for the Southeastern Idaho Show Team. While teaching at Cope’s Dance and Fitness, her teams were awarded many 1st places and Best Choreography awards in 2005 and 2006.

In 2007, Amy finished up her graduate degree from Idaho State University with her Bachelors in Science and her minor in Dance Education.

As the founder of Dance It, Amy is still continuing to teach dance and following her dreams.

Colie Jensen

Colie Jensen has been dancing for as long as she can remember. Whether it was with her dad in the living room or the studio, she was always moving.

Colie danced on the Downtown Dance Studio Showteam in Blackfoot, Idaho where she was trained in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, and her favorite - Hip Hop.

As a Junior in High school, Colie competed in the Distinguished Young Woman program. She placed 1st in Talent for her Jazz Solo, received a fitness award, and became the 1st attendant for the Distinguished Young Woman of Blackfoot program.

Colie played a role in restarting the Blackfoot High School Dance Team back in 2014. She became a team captain during her junior year and assisted in both coaching and choreographing.

Colie continued to dance in college at Brigham Young University - Idaho where she earned her bachelor's degree in accounting. She is currently an Accountant and does bookkeeping work for non-profit organizations across the United States.

Colie found her passion for teaching dance in 2015 and has continued teaching since. She joined the Dance It family in 2017 as an instructor and choreographer. She has loved the opportunity to share her love of dance with so many girls and hopes to be involved at this studio for many years to come.
